Keep it simple! Just as with anything…the right tools make all the difference. I use the following tools for my own family photos. My students and clients are having great success using these tools to simplify their photo & digital collection of the memories and stories that matter most!
PRINTED PHOTOS + MEMORY/KEEPSAKE BOXES:
- Acid free photo box: Available at your local Hobby Lobby, Michael’s or Amazon
- Stablio Pencil: This is for writing on the back of your photos
- Scanners: Do It Yourself or use a Professional Service to do it for you (connect with Amy for help with this)! For quick scans, you can use your phone camera or a flat bed scanner you already own. Some public libraries have scanners or tech rooms that are free to use as well. For multiple photos, I recommend a scanner that allows you to do stacks at a time!
- Photo Albums: Choose acid free slide in style or whichever kind you like.
- Digitization Box: VHS, film, slides, photos, negatives or 12X12 scrapbook pages to digitize. Contact Amy for help with this.
DIGITAL PHOTOS, VIDEOS, KIDS’ ARTWORK & DOCUMENTS:
After a computer crash and doing much research, I found a digital toolbox with tools for private cloud storage, sharing, telling the stories, easy organizing, slideshows, digitizing my mom’s old reels + VHS tapes, scanning, and printing EASY autobooks!
Today, my family can easily find and enjoy our photos, videos and stories using my 5 Steps to an Uncluttered Photo Life as a guide!
